Self taught with 14 years experience in floristry, Jolene spent a year working as a florist in Paris before returning to Dunedin, New Zealand & opening ‘Estelle Flowers’ in the Spring of 2010, in Moray Place. The name was chosen for its French origins, femininity, and old world grace, and derived from the Latin stella meaning ‘star.’
Jolene has Diplomas in Aromatherapy and Herbal Medicine. She employs a team of effervescent, educated florists, with backgrounds in Botany, Landscape Architecture, and both international (Paris & Tokyo) & local experience.
Estelle Flowers is an environmentally conscious business, recycling green waste, minimising the use of floral foam, and preferring local product when buying from the NZ flower market. We have our own growers of dahlias, gladioli & peonies, and we forage and cultivate flowers and foliages that suit our southern climate ... rhododendrons, camelias and hydrangeas.
